Equivity works closely with our clients to provide them with virtual paralegals who are experienced in their field and have successfully worked in a remote or virtual environment. You can expect to: 

  • Operate with significant independence. 
  • Be responsible for maintaining timely communication with clients between 9am – 6pm with a close responsiveness commitment.

The selected paralegal will come on board as a W-2 employee (not a 1099 independent contractor), with a minimum availability of 20 hours per week and a maximum of 40 hours per week.

Position Overview: 

We are keen on welcoming a virtual paralegal who: 

  • Holds expertise in corporate law- real estate, corporate governance, and/or intellectual property experience a plus 
  • Comes with a minimum of three years of corporate experience 
  • Has been engaged in a law firm setting within the past six months 
  • Has strong knowledge of corporate law and regulations, such as the Corporate Transparency Act  
  • Has experience navigating regulatory authorities 
  • Is technologically proficient, especially with Word, Excel, Adobe, and preferably with cloud-based practice management software like Clio

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of recent experience working as a corporate paralegal.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate laws and regulations, such as the Corporate Transparency Act.
  • Experience working with regulatory authorities and navigating their websites and processes.
  • Proficiency in legal research, completing forms, and drafting legal documents.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual environment.
  • Proficiency in legal software, apps, and tools.
  • Experience using practice management software such as Clio, PC Law, or MyCase.
  • Availability to respond to requests within an hour during the hours of 9 AM - 6 PM, Monday – Friday in continental U.S. time zone (Pacific, Mountain, Central or Eastern).
  • Your own laptop and smartphone with broadband access to Internet.
  • Quiet location in which to take phone calls.

Responsibilities may include: 

  • Preparing and filing forms and documents with government agencies and regulatory authorities.
  • Conducting research on laws and their implications and reviewing legal precedents.
  • Reviewing corporate documents such as financial records, ownership documents, and other relevant materials.
  • Conducting due diligence on corporate entities.
  • Maintaining corporate records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinating and communicating with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, attorneys, and government agencies.
  • Maintaining and updating records and documentation related to regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in investigations related to regulatory matters and provide support in resolving compliance issues.
