Position Overview:
We are keen on welcoming a virtual paralegal who:
- Holds expertise in Bankruptcy—especially in areas of Chapter 7 and 13. Chapter 11 experience a plus.
- Comes with a minimum of three years of Bankruptcy experience.
- Possesses knowledge in another area of law, such as family law, probate, or litigation.
- Has been engaged in a law firm setting within the past six months.
- Has experience using bankruptcy software such as Best Case.
- Is technologically proficient, especially with Word, Excel, Adobe, and preferably with cloud-based practice management software like Clio.

You can expect to:
- Operate with significant independence.
- Be responsible for maintaining timely communication with clients between 9am – 6pm with a close responsiveness commitment.
- Experience the freedom and flexibility of working from the comfort of your home.
- The selected paralegal will come on board as a W-2 employee (not a 1099 independent contractor).
Job requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3+ years of recent experience working as a paralegal.
- Experience with Chapter 7 and 13 is required. Experience with Chapter 11 is highly desirable
- Expertise in another area of law.
- Excellent writing skills and strong attention to detail
- Proficient knowledge of bankruptcy laws, procedures, and court rules
- Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and evaluate relevant legal information
- Familiarity with bankruptcy software, such as BestCase, for document preparation and management
- Experience utilizing case management software, such as Clio, to maintain accurate and organized case records
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment
- Availability to respond to requests within an hour during the hours of 9 AM - 6 PM, Monday – Friday Pacific, Mountain, Central, or Eastern Time
- Your own laptop and smartphone with broadband access to the Internet
- Quiet location in which to make and take phone calls
RESPONSIBILTIES MAY INCLUDE:
- Assist attorneys in preparing and filing bankruptcy petitions, schedules, and other related legal documents
- Communicate with clients, creditors, and court personnel to gather necessary information and documentation
- Manage and organize case files, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date
- Prepare for hearings including the 341 Meeting of Creditors
- Utilize bankruptcy software such as BestCase to streamline processes and enhance efficiency
- Utilize case management software such as Clio to maintain organized and accessible case records
- Collaborate effectively with attorneys and other legal professionals to ensure smooth workflow and effective case management
