Job description
Equivity is looking for an experienced virtual paralegal to partner with attorneys on Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy matters. Experience with Chapter 11, including Subchapter 5, is a strong plus. This is a role for someone who enjoys building lasting relationships with clients and attorneys while working as part of a supportive, close-knit team.
What You’ll Do
Draft and file Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 petitions, schedules, statements, and related documents.
Assist with hearings and 341 Meetings of Creditors, including preparation and coordination.
Communicate with clients, trustees, courts, and creditors to collect documents and move cases forward.
Use platforms like BestCase and Clio to keep cases accurate and on track.
Stay ahead of deadlines and ensure cases run smoothly from start to finish.
About You
Bachelor’s degree required.
At least 3 years of recent bankruptcy paralegal experience across Chapters 7 and 13.
Experience with Chapter 11, including Subchapter 5, is a strong plus.
Proficiency with BestCase, Clio, Microsoft Office, and Adobe.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple cases independently in a remote setting.
Professional home office setup.
Experience in other areas of law (e.g., litigation, probate, family law) is a plus.

Availability to respond to client requests within one hour, Monday through Friday, 9 AM – 6 PM.
