Job description
Are you an experienced paralegal with a passion for family law? Join Equivity, a leader in virtual legal support services across the U.S. We’re seeking a skilled and reliable paralegal to assist attorneys with a variety of family law matters, including divorce, custody, adoption, support, and post-judgment modifications. Key Responsibilities:
Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, declarations, and discovery responses.
Manage and maintain detailed case files throughout all stages of the matter.
Maintain proactive and professional communication with clients during standard business hours (9 AM – 6 PM).
Communicate effectively with opposing counsel, court personnel, and third parties.
Support attorneys with hearing, mediation and trial preparation, including exhibit organization and witness coordination.
Handle calendaring, track deadlines, and assist with case workflow using cloud-based legal platforms.
Collaborate with attorneys and internal team members to ensure cases move forward efficiently and effectively.
About You:
Minimum of 3 years of recent experience as a family law paralegal, with a solid understanding of procedures related to divorce, custody, support, and post-judgment matters.
Highly proficient in cloud-based legal case management software such as Clio and MyCase.
Familiarity with family law–specific CRMs or tools (e.g., Lawmatics, Family Law Software) is a plus.
Skilled in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, PDF editing with Adobe, and video conferencing tools.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage sensitive client matters with discretion.
Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to manage competing deadlines independently in a remote environment.
Equipped with a Windows-based laptop, smartphone, and reliable broadband internet.

About Equivity:
Equivity provides specialized virtual paralegal, administrative, and marketing services to attorneys and businesses nationwide. Our remote paralegals work independently while being supported by a collaborative and experienced team.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree.
Minimum 3 years of recent family law experience.
Availability to respond to client requests within one hour, Monday through Friday, 9 AM – 6 PM.
Ability to work 20–40 hours per week on an ongoing basis.
