Job description

Equivity is looking for a part-time virtual paralegal with recent experience supporting attorneys in intellectual property litigation firms. We are looking for paralegals with at least three years of experience in intellectual property litigation, and the selected candidate will have experience supporting attorneys who handle Inter Partes Reviews before the Patent Office. Any additional experience in trademark prosecution, trademark litigation, or patent prosecution would be a bonus. If you have experience supporting patent litigation attorneys as a paralegal, and have previously worked in a virtual environment, we want to hear from you!

Virtual paralegals at Equivity develop a portfolio of clients and support a number of different attorneys. We are currently seeking a virtual paralegal to support attorneys who practice patent litigation and handle IPR reviews.

With regard to patent litigation, responsibilities include preparing pleadings, including complaints, motions, and all necessary supporting documents. Your experience with discovery should include preparation of written discovery, responses to written discovery, and collection of the underlying documentation. You should be well versed with electronic discovery, including searching for responsive documents, reviewing and tagging documents using appropriate software, and producing documents. You should also have experience with the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, performing legal research by utilizing Westlaw or Lexis (including Sherardizing), and cite checking. You should have experience supporting attorneys through all aspects of litigation, from initiation of a suit through trial.

With regard to Inter Partes Reviews before the PTAB, your experience should include assistance in preparing petitions, motions, oppositions, and declarations.
