Virtual Probate Paralegal

Job description

Equivity is looking for a part-time paralegal with recent experience supporting attorneys with estate and trust administration, guardianships, and conservatorships in probate courts. We are looking for paralegals with at least three years of experience in probate law, including managing summary, formal, and informal administration cases; assisting in determining beneficiaries and assessing creditor claims; performing client intake and document collection; drafting pleadings and other documents; coordinating with Courts, creditors, banks, and appraisers; and collecting asset information from financial accounts. If you have substantial experience supporting attorneys in a probate law practice, and have previously assisted attorneys remotely, we want to hear from you!

Virtual paralegals at Equivity develop a portfolio of clients supporting a number of different attorneys. We are currently seeking a virtual paralegal to support attorneys who practice probate law. Your experience should include assisting with drafting documents such as petitions, motions, testamentary letters, inventories, accountings, and notices. The ideal candidate will also have experience preparing inheritance tax returns, letters to creditors and heirs, consents to transfer, and quit claim or personal representatives’ deeds. You should also be adept at using practice management software, such as Clio or MyCase; Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel; and editing PDFs. Experience with software such as WealthCounsel or HotDocs a plus.
